college instructor Paul Smith with group of students and 3D printerMore than 30 students from Annawan, Galva and Kewanee high schools recently attended Manufacturing Day at the Black Hawk College Welding and Skilled Trades Center in Kewanee.

The day included a tour of Martin Engineering in Neponset followed by interactive sessions at the Welding and Skilled Trades Center.

Students got introduced to the college’s virtual welder, welding simulators, CNC milling machine and 3D printer, met with reps from four local manufacturers, and learned about the college’s IGNITE advanced manufacturing program.
